so these days I alternate between completely freaking out about school and the impending doom of next year or saying “f*ck it, there’s always Hunter.”
kudos to bronx science for firing effective, competent teachers because obnoxious, entitled white kids don’t want to learn.
some kind of bullshit: teachers being held accountable for lazy-ass kids.
but then again, this is the school that would rather appease wealthy parents than deal with our burgeoning drug problem a mere 10 yards away.
so Steiker expects perfection from us but has the nerve to send out an email in which she confuses “except” with “accept.”
I’m tired of hearing that I’m not good enough, not smart enough…not CAPABLE enough. I think it to myself all the time so I’d appreciate not having to hear it from you, the one person who I reckon should be supporting me every step of the way.

I really enjoy reading the comments on a thought-provoking NYT piece. The evident partisanship, the misguided views….It’s fascinating when you get a chance to enter the minds of contemporary America.
This one NYT commentator, though, really summed up why we are doomed if we vote Republican in November.
“The reasonable response seems to be more obscene tax cuts for hedge fund managers and all of our beloved capital gains friends and perhaps a few more wars; ignore our own citizens in every respect, ban contraception and don’t ever teach contraception under any circumstances since God had only one son and was obviously good at family planning.
Vote for the Jesus Republicans in 2012, who would make Jesus want to throw up today.”
It was a response to this article: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/04/08/us/welfare-limits-left-poor-adrift-as-recession-hit.html
I have always secretly wished that Michelle was president instead of Barack.
